My parents Anniversary is August 11th and I hold a party at my house every year around that time.
Yesterday we celebrated as a family 60 years of their marriage. Sometimes I wonder how they made it this long. It wasn’t always a great family home but I am grateful that my mom chose to stay with dad and make it work even when there were times I am sure she may not have wanted to.
I do believe they have made it because of the prayers of my Grandmother, my mom’s mom. She prayed fervently for all of her family.
The weather was great and our pool got much use.
This is Carson
Abby LOVES the water
You did have to keep shoes on to walk on the grass, due to the drought we have had!
Ouch!
It was nice to see Dad playing the guitar again. He had brought strings to string the guitar we had.
Rick joined in as well.
Someone was comfortable!
We asked people to bring “60” things for Mom and Dad.
My sister made this with 60 golf balls.
She also made some little Ants.
These are some other 60 gifts.
Mints, cherry Blasts, cashews, Chocolates, batteries. Pauline brought 60 meatballs for dinner and Crystal brought 60 timbits. And my brother did their timeline on 60″ of clear tubing.
Go figure, the boy was the most creative!!
And of course lots of family photos. Although Holly was missing so we did not get a sister/mom photo this year.
Couldn’t quite get a good one of Rick and Son
And some random shots.
And, the one lonely photo of food. Ron’s specialty!
It was a good day and fun. We were missing at least 7 this year. Hopefully a full house next year.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad, may you end strong!
Until we meet again
