I guess I forgot to blog the cake I made for Eliot’s birthday wwwaaaayyy back in May.
So rather than have him think I don’t care about him, which clearly I do, I decided I should post this, finally.
I made a Snickers Cake. It was pretty gooey but very good.
You need caramel for this and as per my previous post, next time I might just make my own caramel rather than spending hours getting the freakin’ plastic off the caramel.
I cheated a bit this time and chose a recipe that used a Cake Mix. I don’t usually do this as I would much rather make it from scratch but I wanted to see if this would work so thought I would let go my snobbishness and make it.
1 German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 1/3 cups water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (14 oz) bag of Kraft caramel (or any other caramels you like)
1/4 cup milk
1/3 cup butter (which is about 3/4 of a cube)
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
After you spend hours getting the freakin’ plastic off the caramels (get the point that I didn’t like doing this?) add the milk and butter and melt all on the stove.
Put half the cake batter in the pan and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and add the caramel sauce then the pecans and chocolate chips.
Follow with the other half of the cake batter and cook for a further 20 minutes.
The finished product.
It was pretty gooey inside and very moist.
So Eliot I am sorry this took so long to post, although, I doubt he even reads my blog. LOL
Until we “m eat” again!
