Today is August 2nd, There, I got that right this time. Yesterday I put the wrong date. I am a bit mixed up apparently.
Today Ron had to pre ride the course for his race tomorrow, so we didn’t get away as early but that’s okay.
While I was waiting, I took these photos from our balcony again as it was such a nice sunny day
Once we go going, our first stop was here
The owners of the B&B we are staying at, has a son-in-law that owns this store. Ron actually needed some co2 cartridges (since we can’t bring them on the plane) and of course he needed to check out the store. Steve was very helpful and funny.
He suggested we go to Carlingford as he thought we would like it. He was right.
It is a fishing village with medieval alleyways.
On our way, I stopped to take these photos.
This is actually the other side of where we are staying. If you look closely enough, you would see our B&B.
Well, you would have to look really hard. Better view of the Mountains of Mourne.
You also cross the border of Northern Ireland. You can tell this because the speed limit changes from miles/hour to km/hour and you have to use Euros there, not pounds.
This sheep was trying to figure out what I was taking a picture of so I decided to take it of him.
This was the first picture of Carlingford. Very beautiful spot with lots of small, narrow streets with cute stores and pubs.
This was quite funny to see. Had to take a picture for obvious reasons. If it is not obvious to you, look at my last name!
Good thing Ron is not Irish, he would not fit into a lot of doors. This is the Mint.
Inside the Mint and outside.
Self explanatory
This is a bit blurry because it was so dark. Such a small jail.
Check out the date on this sign. Unbelievable. I really hate trying to smile at the right time!
The entrance
Such a cute little town.
As I was “browsing”, Ron found this little hideaway. It was really beautiful.
They have some very colourful houses here. Can’t say that I hate them. Maybe I should start a trend?
Another Church
Another Castle that is partly a pub now
We were now getting hungry and Ron needed pasta so we decided on…
Yum.
Until we meet again
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your journey as you go along. Makes me feel connected to you. Andrea xo P.S. All the best for your race Ron!
Thanks Andrea, glad someone is reading them.
there you go!! that was what I was looking for! a bit crazy being beside something that is 700 yrs old, even if a building, eh? we’re so not used to that in Canada. Beautiful pics, keep them coming!
